About TWWK

SMUX is a CBD in SMU (Singapore Management University) that focuses on bringing adventure, fun and family to the SMU Student body. We currently have 6 teams and are still expanding.

This blog started out as a way to update SMUX trekkers about training sessions named ‘Wednesdays with Kenneth’. Wednesdays with Kenneth was a new initiative by the 3rd SMUX Trekking Team Comm. Its nice name was given by Juliet, the chirpiest of the team. They are actually training sessions in physical fitness as well as information sessions made available to all Trekking Team members on every Wednesday of the week during the year. It serves as an avenue for trekking team members to interact and bond together, way before their tough treks as this will help the members reach a level of understanding and thereby improving the trek.

Over the past year, since TWWK was conceptualized, this blog has become much more than just an avenue to update trekkers on trainings. This blog is also used to update trekkers on everything related to SMUX Trekking – from our latest treks to our latest recipes. Please do check out some of the guides and trek logs we have posted thus far!

Lastly, please feel free to post your comments on the site!

Your Friendly Corp Comms Secretary! :)

    Men’s Health Oct 2009, pg 16:

A hike in the wood can boost your immunity. Men who walked through a forest for a total of 6 hours over 2 days experienced a 46 percent soike in their blood levels of natural killer cells, which are part of your body’s strike fore against viruses. Apparently, all trees release airbone chemicals called PHYTONCIDES that not only protect their foliage from microbes but also help to stimulate our own immune systems.
